Okay, so firstly let’s get the elephant out of the room. Yes, there has been a huge news story this week regarding the singer of a UK rock band. But I don’t think I can physically bring myself to write my own opinions on the subject matter without wanting to make myself vomit.

What’s happened is disgusting, a little terrifying and extremely sad and I can only hope something like this never happens again.

MOVING ON. Positive vibes only from here on out, pinky promise.

Good news of the week, as I’m sure many of you may have gathered from last weeks post, I’m a bit of a fan of Yellowcard. In a recent interview, violinist and vocalist Sean Mackin revealed that the band are hoping to release a new album in 2014. I’m already fully prepared for this to be my album of the summer and am certainly hoping for Ocean Avenue mark two.

Speaking of Yellowcard, they also feature on the brand new Punk Goes Christmas album. Yes they are still making those compilation records and yes it is totally justifiable to be listening to Christmas songs when they are as good as these. The album includes the likes of New Found Glory, Issues and All Time Low, but Yellowcards cover of ‘Christmas Lights’ is a personal fave, listen to it below!

If you fancy something a little less angry, then I highly recommend you check out the guys in Amber Run and their new single ‘Heaven’. I’ve had this on repeat a lot recently, and although it strays from the ferocious guitars and heavy bass I tend to fancy, it’s a corker of a song and makes me want to go running through a field, or something along those lines...

Out on the road right now are the boys in Mallory Knox, who have begun a humongous UK tour that has already taken them across the length and breadth of the country. They’re currently having a pit-stop in Australia (lucky buggers), before coming back to play the last part of their UK tour and you can check them out at the O2 Islington Academy on December 12th

Joining Mallory Knox on the road are another superb UK rock group known as Blitz Kids, they’ve recently released the video for new single ‘Sometimes’ which is taken from their album The Good Youth, out January 20th

Check out the video for ‘Sometimes’ below

You Me At Six have also finally announced a handful of UK tour dates for April 2014 in support of their fourth studio album Cavalier Youth, which is released 27th January. New single ‘Fresh Start Fever’ will also be released on 4th
