The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard has apologised to One Direction after a drunken Twitter rant, where he urged fans to buy "real music" rather than material from the boyband.
After One Direction member Liam Payne called the indie star out on his tweets, criticising Pritchard for "verbally attacking" his own fans, Pritchard has now tweeted an apology to Payne, saying: "@Real_Liam_Payne man, I regret having a rant but the machinery of the industry pisses me off. I respect you do your thing."
"This whole thing now has gone too far. Gonna say I have my opinions but meant no offence, that's why I took down them there tweets. Love," he added. However, Pritchard then tweeted: "Hahahgaasaaaaaa !!! Jokes," casting doubt on the sincerity of his previous apology.

Earlier this week, Pritchard took to Twitter to slam the world-conquering talent show stars, telling fans that he would rather One Direction fans stop following him on Twitter, and expressing his unhappiness with their global success.
"Do not like what I do. i'd rather anyone who likes one direction never follow me. you literally have no idea who upset I am," later adding: "How can you be a fan of something that has no life. I honestly feel so depressed that you are into Kooks." He later admitted he was drunk while tweeting.
One Direction member Liam Payne then responded to the criticsm, claiming One Direction are (or were) fans of The Kooks, prior to his criticism. "Sad thing is @lukekook we are/where [sic] fans of your band, nice one man verbally attacking your own fans how very rock and roll of you ;)" Payne wrote on Twitter.
