Miles Kane has enjoyed a pretty decent 2013 - hitting the UK Top Ten with his second album, Don't Forget Who You Are, and a string of international festival appearances. Needless to say, he's closing the year on a bit of a high.

Or perhaps not, as the rocker has covered The Verve's 'The Drugs Don't Work' for new Youtube channel, Transmitter, and his performance of the iconic track is premiering on Gigwise, before anywhere else. Check it out below.

'The Drugs Don't Work' was orginally released in 1997, and taken from The Verve's career-defining album, Urban Hymns. Kane's performance adds a sense of rock n' roll swagger to the melancholy original, which, 16-years later, still packs a punch as one of the most moving indie anthems of all time.

Miles Kane will support Arctic Monkeys at their two huge Finsbury Park gigs in May 2014. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
