Kanye West has been accused of anti-Semitism by the national director of the Anti-Defamation League.

When asked his thoughts on Barack Obama in an interview with Power 105, the rapper said “He ain’t got those connections… Black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people.”

ADL director Abraham H. Foxman has criticised these comments, saying “This is classic anti-semitism. There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government.” He added “As a celebritiy, with a wide following, Kanye West should know better.”

Foxman also expressed hope that West would apologise for his comments. The rapper, who is currently doing shows to disappointingly small crowds, during which he has stormed off stage because the lighting “sucks”, is yet to comment on the controversy.
