Okay, own up. Who stole 2013 and where have you put it? How it is even December right now I have no idea. This year has gone incredibly quickly but I think you’ll agree when I say we’ve had one of the best years for music yet. Plenty of comebacks happened, guitar bands dominated the charts and I spent more nights in a field then I did my own bed over the summer.

Now though, we all have to start thinking of Christmas presents and your bog standard CDs and books don’t quite cut it anymore - I say after spending the afternoon rushing around the shops and having a fight with the sellotape to make ‘creative’ presents.

There is just one thing that is going on my Christmas list this year (slight lie). Alexisonfire, the band that broke so many of our hearts with their farewell tour last year, have only gone and announced this limited edition boxset.

Take a look at this little beauty and all the Alexisonfire vinyl goodness. Please Santa, Mum and Dad, anyone with a spare $250 (£154) - there are only 1000 copies and I really need to have one in my life.

If that vinyl boxset is a little out of your price range (sob), then here is a band that I highly recommend listening to. Moose Blood are bringing their own style of pop- punk onto the scene, their lyrics will make girls weep and their records will only cost you about a fiver. Lovely.

For a little taster of what they have to offer, watch their video of ‘Boston’ below:

Festival announcements are big news this week. Sonisphere is making a return in 2014, Download have got Linkin Park playing Hybrid Theory in full (calm yourself, teenage me) and Reading and Leeds have announced the first batch of talent to grace the stages next year. Obviously I am incredibly excited to see Blink 182 again and do my best Tom Delonge impression, and I won’t lie - my inner chav is ready to have a bit of a party to Disclosure.

And finally, as if my teenage emo heart wasn’t weeping enough as it is right now. Taking Back Sunday have announced their return with an intimate show at London’s KOKO on February 26th 2014.Not only that but they’ll be bringing out a new album at some point in the next 12 months as well. To commemorate ten years of their album Tell All Your Friends, the band will also be releasing a double-DVD next week, which will include an acoustic and live version of the album in full. For now though, I’ll leave you with a memory of that album. Watch the video for ‘Cute without the E’ below:

(Oh and in case you were wondering who I am – Whaddup I’m Tamsyn and I like to write about breakdowns and beats for various websites, as well as playing songs I like on Express FM radio every Tuesday night from 10pm.
