Bruce Springsteen's handwritten draft of the lyrics for 'Born To Run' was sold at auction for nearly $200,000 earlier this week.
The manuscript, which includes some of the most famous lines from the song is one of only two to be known in existence, but despite its rarity it was only estimated to sell between $70,000 to $100,000.
According to the auction house in New York, the script used to belong to Springsteen's former manager, however the seller is unknown, alomgside the buyer who is yet to be named.
The manuscript sees Springsteen figuring out the lyrics for 'Born To Run', with alternative versions thrown in, according to the auctioneer scribbles of words were also jotted down in the margins next to the lyrics.
Some of the lyrics read: "This town'll rip the (out your) bones from yourback / it's a suicide trap (rap) (it's a trap to catchthe young) your dead unless / you get out (we gotto) while your young so (come on! / with) take myhand cause tramps / like us baby we were born to run."
Bruce Springsteen release his new album High Hopes on January 13th 2014 and will feature several collaborations with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello.
