Ten paving stones laid down in Ian Watkins home town of Pontypridd in 2012, engraved with Lostprophets lyrics could be removed following the frontman's conviction for sexually abusing children.

Laid down in celebration of the area's cultural history in 2012, featuring lyrics from the band's song 'Streets of Nowhere', the paving slabs may now be ripped up according to Local Labour Welsh assembly member Mick Antoniw.

The decision comes since Watkins pleaded guilty to 13 sexual offences, including two attempts to rape a baby at Cardiff Crown Court in November.

In an interview with The Guardian, Antoniw explained that there was a lot of local pride in the band, but since Watkins convictions "the feeling is that it should be ripped up now."

He continued: "It's not something that the council should make a song and dance about but I think that these pavings should be discretely removed."

Two female co-defendant, who cannot be names for legal reasons, were also found guilty of a number of child sex offences alongside the Lostprophets frontman.
