Alt-J, Kendrick Lamar and Foals are amongst the artists named as the hardest working of 2013, in a list compiled by Songkick.
The live music tracking service's list was defined by the amount of shows the artist has played in 2013, as well as the "exact distance between each venue on their tour". Songkick also found a "15% increase in the distance most bands travelled" compared to 2012,
"As artist incomes rely more and more on the live music industry,” the website wrote, “it’s clear that bands are increasingly willing to tour further and tap into new and emerging markets." However, albums and other projects by artists were not taken into account for the findings.
Kendrick Lamar was named as the most hard-working rapper of 2013, taking the number two spot, with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also included in the list at number ten. Four UK acts made the cut, with Alt J coming in at number three, Foals at number five, One Direction at number seven and Two Door Cinema Club just making the cut at number five.
