Adele and PJ Harvey are among the names to be awarded with MBEs by the Queen this week, it has been revealed.
As part of the Queen's Birthday Honours List, Adele's full title will now be 'Miss Adele Adkins MBE. The multi-Mercury Prize-winning musical genuis and God-like PJ Harvey will also be honoured for list for services to the music industry, alongside broadcaster Aled Jones and author Joanne Harris in receiving the 'Most Excellent Order of the British Empire'.
They shall receive their honours at Buckingham Palace in London on Thursday 19 December, 2013.
The MBE is one of the Queen's highest honours - one of the many for Adele to add to her collection after her 2011 album 21 sold 28 million copies worldwide and has gone platinum 16 times in the UK. Earlier this week, it was named Amazon’s top selling CD of all time.
Both Adele and PJ Harvey are said to be working on new material, which will hopefully see the light of day in 2014.
