Coldplay performed an intimate gig this week in a Somerset pub, and while the celebrity guests at The Ring O'Bells were thrilled at the gig, regulars were less than impressed.
The 'Viva La Vida' star performed a tiny show for record label execs and celebrity guests, alongside Connor Maynard, Becky Hill and Chas & Dave, in the pub owned by Miles Leonard, chairman of Parlophone records. However, not everyone was thrilled - with locals angry at being unable to get in for an ale.
"It’s just annoying, it’s a local pub and we’re the ones who keep it going all year round," said one, unnamed regular to The Daily Star. "They do this once a year and we are never invited."
The Bath Chronicle reported that there was security on the door of the pub, in order to ensure regulars got to see "the group that fills stadia across the world" - although this doesn't seem to have worked in all cases.

The band are currently working on their next album, which is expected for release in 2014.
Coldplay will be performing at Kids Company And Coldplay Present: Under1roof at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith London, on Thursday 19 December. Rizzle Kicks, Dynamo, Lily Allen and David Brent & Foregone Conclusion will also be performing.
