Rapper Drake has reportedly recruited Tottenham striker Jermaine Defoe for Toronto F.C. after putting in a personal call to the player.
It has been reported that Canadian rapper Drake is a huge "soccer" fan (or should that be football) and is an extremely proud and avid supporter of his local team Toronto F.C. As a result he holds a global ambassador position at the club and has taken it unto himself to begin recruiting players - beginning with Defoe.
According to the Mirror, the hip-hop megastar put in a personal phone call to Defoe. The striker was apparently blown away by the appeal and as a result has agreed to take a £90,000 per-week four-year deal.
