It has been confirmed that Pharrell Williams will release his first solo album in eight years in 2014.
Despite being somewhat of a serial collaborator and appearing on many of the biggest hits of 2013, including Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines', the former Neptunes star hasn't released a solo LP since 2006's In My Mind.
Now, it has been confirmed that Pharrell has inked a solo deal with Columbia Records for a album next year. It has also been confirmed that the album will feature the brilliant 'Happy' from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack - which came complete with a pointlessly long 24 hour music video.
"Something’s coming, and I’m not rapping on it," he told Complex magazine earlier this month, adding that the album was about "the difference between [age] 30 and 40."
He stressed: "No rapping. It’s focused."

Meanwhile, Pharrell, Robin Thicke and T.I. are currently embroiled in a legal battle with Marvin Gaye's family - who accuse the trio of 'ripping off' a number of Gaye's legendary tracks in 'Blurred Lines'.
