Beyonce's latest, self titled fifth album has crossed the 1 million mark in iTunes sales - in just six days. Amazing, eh?
The superstar's record label Columbia announced the singer's fifth record hit the 1 millionth sale mark on yesterday (December 18). The "visual album" is iTunes' fastest selling ever album, and is exclusive to Apple's online music store, although physical copies are expected to be released by Christmas.

Beyonce dropped the release over night unexpectedly, with no promotion on December 13, and the record shifted 828,773 copies over its first weekend. The 14 track album, accompanied by 17 videos, features guest appearances from husband Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, and Drake.
The record's swift success has also seen Beyonce become the first female singer in history to top the charts with every single one of her first five albums. The release of Beyonce has given the singer her biggest opening week sales ever.
The eponymous record has recieved critical acclaim as well as praise from fans, who dubbed the unconventional release as "game changing", expressing admiration at how the singer kept such a massive body of work under wraps.
