Oly chart-topper Robin Thicke has won the extremely coveted title of 'sexist of the year' in a poll by the End Violence Against Women Coalition.

The singer has been the clear frontrunner for these kinds of 'awards' since releasing his single 'Blurred Lines', the video of which showed him surrounded by naked models and repeatedly insisting "You know you want it".

The misogyny doesn't end there though - Thicke was keen to live up to his name when he said in an interview with GQ magazine "What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I've never gotten to do that before."

Member of the EVAWC Sarah Green congratulated the singer for instigating such an effective backlash. "Our heartfelt congratulations to a worthy winner Robin Thicke for both his concerted sexist efforts, and in the end the platform he created for the rejection of the use of women as objects to promote mediocre pop.

Thicke's prize is a voucher enabling him to download Arethra Franklin's hit song 'Respect.'
