Arcade Fire have promised a 'scary good' performance at Glastonbury 2014, and promised fans that there is no chance of any rain when they headline the Pyramid Stage in June next year.
The band announced they would headline the Friday night of next year's festival on social media yesterday (19 December, 2013), and spoke to Radio One's Zane Lowe on his radio show to discuss their hugely anticipated performance.
"It's great, it's such a communal, rite of passage in the UK and there's this very communal spirit to the whole thing, which is our band's thing," said frontman Win Butler. "It'll be a point in touring where we will be scary good. With our new percussionist, we're playing so much better together and on a musical level we're ready to strap on our wellies and let it rip."
When Lowe suggest that rain and wellies aren't always a certain at Glastonbury, Butler backtracked and made some mighty promises about the festival weather.
"I'm going to go ahead and guarantee the Friday will be a gorgeous Californian sunshine day. I 100% guarantee you. If not, Glastonbury will refund your ticket," he added. "They might sell some tickets now. Oh wait, they all sold out before announcing anyone."
Meanwhile, Arcade Fire will be returning to the UK and Ireland next year for a string of live headline shows close to their Glastonbury slot. Dates are below.
6 June - Earls Court, London
7 June - Earls Court, London
