David Richards, who produced some of Queen and David Bowie's biggest albums, has passed away, aged 57.
Richards was responsible for engineering and co-producing David Bowie's Never Let Me Down, Outside and The Buddha Of Suburbia, as well as Blah Blah Blah by Iggy Pop and A Kind Of Magic, Innuendo, Made In Heaven and The Miracle by Queen.
It is reported that the English born but Swiss-based producer died on Friday 20 December, 2013 of 'long illness'.
Paying tribute to Richards, a Queen spokesman said: "He will be remembered by many as a good friend. He was funny and generous and great company, a talented and capable man who had an instinctive 'magic touch' in the recording studio. His creative productions will be enjoyed for years to come."

He would later come to own Mountain Studios.
