Beyonce's self-titled fifth album has been reportedly illegally downloaded over 240,000 times - worth around $3.8million to the superstar.
When the album premiered on iTunes earlier this month, it rapidly broke sales records, shifting one million copies in just three days. The "visual album" is iTunes' fastest selling ever album, and was exclusive to Apple's online music store.
Now, MusicMetric reports that since release, Beyonce's entire music catalogue was shared more than 2 million times over file sharing sites, with 239,131 of those were of her latest album.
It is said that if each album had a value of $15.99, then the pirated downloads would have been worth $3.8million to Beyonce.

MusicMetric Chief Executive Gregory Mead said: "The usefulness of BitTorrent data is that it allows record labels to have an incredibly detailed insight into where their artists are popular – right down to the town.
"Although the file-sharing numbers may be high, it will be possible to translate many of these into buyers."
