Former drummer with The Smiths Mike Joyce has said that he will not be reading Morrissey's recent autobiography, but added that he would love to reform the iconic band.

In the latest issue of Q Magazine, Joyce was asked about his court battle in 1996 when he sued frontman Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr for unpaid royalties. The case features heavily in Morrissey's new book.

"I've not read the book, and I never will," said Joyce. "I've got a pretty good idea of what's in there. I don't want to go down that route of putting out a statement saying that this or that is wrong."

However, despite the well-publicised dispute, Joyce said that he would have no second thoughts about reuniting with the band.

"Of course, we'd all do it we were asked. We were one of the greatest bands ever," he said. "As a performer, there was nobody better than Morrissey. But a reunion is never going to happen."

Meanwhile, Morrissey is said to have 'a wealth' of new material, and is currently seeking a record label in the hope of dropping a new album in 2014.
