Pixies have released an unexpected new EP - much to the surprise of fans. Listen to the lead track, 'Blue Eyed Hexe' below.

The limited edition 10-inch vinyl is limited to just 4,000 copies and is available exclusively for purchase and download through Pixies' official website. The new songs were recorded during October 2012 at Rockfield Studios in Wales, UK, were produced by Gil Norton.

The video for 'Blue Eyed Hexe' is typically twisted and maniacal defacement of various artworks and creepy photos to accompany the track - a brilliantly inimitable short-sharp dose of that fast, filthy and furious Pixies sound.

Discussing the track, frontman Black Francis said: "It's a tale from the northwestern part of the UK, and it's a witch-woman kind of a song. That's what a 'hexe' is, and ours is a blue-eyed hexe."

Guitarist Joey Santiago added, "Gil wanted a swagger, he wanted the guitar solo to sound like you're going to have sex with this blue-eyed hexe." .

The tracklisting is:
1. Blue Eyed Hexe
2. Magdalena
3. Greens and Blues
4. Snakes

The band return to the UK in June 2014 to headline London's Field Day Festival. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
