Ellie Goulding's second album, Halcyon, is on course to top the charts this weekend - 14 months after it was first released.
Thanks mainly to January's quiet release schedule, Halcyon will be reaching the top spot for the first time, leading sales by 5,000 over the rest of the market. Upon its release in October 2012, Halcyon reached the No.2 position, but massive singles 'Burn' and 'Anything Could Happen' have secured a surge in its popularity.
Goulding's previous album, her debut Lights, reached the top spot in 2010. Halcyon is currently fending off competition from Gary Barlow's Since I Saw You Last at No.2, and Beyonce's self titled record, which has jumped from 4 to 3. Robbie Williams' Swings Both Ways and Bastille's Bad Blood complete the top 5.

Acts who appeared on Jools Holland annual New Year's Eve Hootenanny have seen a sharp surge in sales, with Rudimental's Home jumping from 34 to 8, and John Newman climbing ten places from 16 to 6.
Meanwhile on the singles chart, Pitbull and Kesha's bonkers collaboration 'Timber' is looking to snag the number one spot, knocking Pharrell Williams down to No.2 with 'Happy'. The top five is completed by Avicii's 'Hey Brother' at No.3, Jason Derulo's 'Trumpets' at No.4, and 'How Long Will I Love You' by Ellie Goulding at No.5.
