The 'Bring The Noize' star is yet to comment on the exact reasons for her departure from Roc Nation, but it's believed relations have been strained between the rapper and the record label since a trailer for a much-delayed documentary on MIA was leaked online by director Steve Loveridge, who at the time claimed Roc Nation and her record label Interscope were making it difficult for him to work on the project. MIA, real name Maya Arulpragasam, then claimed she had been "blacklisted" after Roc Nation removed the the promotional clip from YouTube.
It's been a troubled year for Arulpragasam, who also threatened to leak her fourth album, Matangi, online in August following delays from Interscope. They obligingly pushed the release date forward. Unfortunately, Matangi didn't perform all that well, becoming MIA's lowest charting record worldwide.
