Lady Gaga has responded to claims that the relatively poor performance of her 2013 album ARTPOP cost record Interscope millions, and led to staff at the label losing their jobs.
An article in the Examiner (which has since been withdrawn) claimed Interscope had lost around $25 million (£15 million) due to the poor sales of the singer's third album, which caused staff at the label to be made redundant.
Now, Gaga has hit back at the article, defending Interscope and instead attacking the "greed" of those around her. Writing on her fansite LittleMonsters.com, the singer claimed that there is "no truth to many of your comments, including the 25 million dollars deficit."
"I have lost love [sic] ones to the greed of money…It is not interscope. They in fact love me very much and will see 'ARTPOP' to the end," she continued, adding that she had been "gravely mismanaged" during her time away from the spotlight nursing synovitis, which leads to joint inflammation.
Gaga parted ways with long-term manager Troy Carter a week before the release of ARTPOP, citing "creative differences" as the reason behind the split.

It's the latest in a series of frank admissions for Gaga on LittleMonsters, following on from the message she posted yesterday (January 6) explaining the reasons behind the delay of the video for her forthcoming single, 'Do What U Want'.
"Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more," she wrote in an emotional, lengthy outpouring.
Gaga recently announced plans to release a new version of 'Do What U Want' as a single - with Christina Aguilera replacing controversial R&B singer R Kelly.
