Neil Young is alleged to have had a go at members of his audience for clapping during a gig at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York this week.
The New York Times reports that Young was performing at one of a four night residency at the venue on Monday (6 January, 2014), when he took issue with fans clapping along to the beat of his track 'Ohio' (apparently out of time).
"Wrong!" Young is reported to have shouted. "It’s something that you probably don’t know, but there’s a hell of a distance between you and me."
Later during his performance, Young is alleged to have become angered with audience members talking in the balcony while he was tuning a harmonica, saying: "No, you paid real good money to get in here, so you should be able to listen to each other."
Hopefully, Young and his band Crazy Horse will be in better spirits when when return to the UK to perform with The National, Tom Odell and more will perform at Barclaycard British Summer Time at London's Hyde Park on Saturday 12 July 2014. For more information visit Gigwise gig tickets.
