Pharrell is currently in the lead to win back this week's No.1 in the UK singles chart with his brilliant track 'Happy'.

The Neptunes star and Daft Punk collaborator is currently out-selling the God-awful 'Timber' by Pitbull and Ke$ha by just 1,000 copies, reports the Official Charts C

Meanwhile, Avicii’s 'Hey Brother' is at No.3, while Jason DeRulo’s 'Trumpets' remains at No.4. The top five is completed by Fuse ODG’s 'Million Pound Girl'.

'Happy' topped the chart at the end of 2013, earning Pharrell his third No.1 with the year - after appearing on the huge-selling 'Get Lucky' with Daft Punk and 'Blurred Lines' with Robin Thicke and T.I.

Over in the albums chart, Ellie’s Goulding's Halcyon and Beyonce’s new self-titled album are almost neck-and-neck in the race to this week’s No.1, with just under 700 copies currently separating the pair on today’s Official Albums Chart Update as Goulding is ahead by just a nose.
