Fall Out Boy, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and more were among the winners in the musical categories at this year's People's Choice Awards, held in America last night (Wednesday 8 January, 2014).
Emo heroes Fall Out Boy beat off competition from Muse, Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons and Paramore to be named Favourite Altnernative Band, while Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience took home the prize for Favourite Album ahead of Robin Thicke, Michael Buble, Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus. Timberlake also won Favourite R&B Artist and Favourite Male Artist.
Accepting his award, Timberlake said: "Thank you! I would like to thank Ellen (Degeneres) for all the personal inspiration and the cookies...bakes a hell of a cookie," before praising his parents "for continuing to instill in me that no dream is too big."
He added: "I'd like to thank all the fans who voted. I'll take it - people's champ, I love it,. And I'd like to thank my beautiful wife for teaching me patience and the little things like just putting the dishes in the dish washer. It goes a long way -- fellas, you're welcome!"
Meanwhile Katy Perry won the award for Best Song with 'Roar', Demi Lovato's Lovatics won Favourite Music Fan Following, One Direction took home the prize for Favourite Band, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won Favourite Hip-Hop Artist, and Britney Spears took home gold for Favourite Pop Artist.
