Azealia Banks' long-delayed debut album has been, bizarrely, compared to date rape in one of the first online reviews of Broke With Expensive Taste.
Vice magazine have apparently secured an early listen to the outspoken rapper's album, and in a negative review, liken the album to a couple who drug and rape each other for fun, and don't make any reference to the tracks on the album. Summing up the album, the writer states: "After being forced to listen to this record, I did learn one thing: even if you’re kinda in love with somebody, sometimes you’re just not in the fucking mood."
Banks album, which includes her hit single '212' is reportedly due for release in March 2014, after many delays, rethinks and postponements. She has reportedly ditched flop single 'ATM Jam' from the record and has swapped her planned next single 'Soda' for another track, 'Chasing Time'. There was a collaboration with Disclosure scheduled for the album too - but that was scrapped, with Banks saying it 'really wasn't that good'.
"I'll probably put 'Bizarra' on another beat and release it later," she told fans on Twitter of her Disclosure collaboration. It's no surprise there's not a happy ending to the collaboration between Banks and Disclosure, considering both parties have been embroiled in a rather public spat since Disclosure played down reports they had been working with Banks - which she didn't take well, dubbing the 'White Noise' musicians "rude".
