Carl Barat, once known for co-fronting indie rock band The Libertines, has admitted that he's not enjoying life as a solo artist and wants to form a new band.
Barat released his debut solo album back in 2010, but has said he doesn't want to release his new material as a solo artist.
"I don't want to be a solo artist anymore, I want to get another band together and I want to do that straight away. I've made a record I'm really proud of, but I've worked too hard to just put it out there. The songs are great, so I don't just want to get a load of session players in to tour it. I wand the best band around me to play it, I want the gang mentality."
The singer is reportedly advertising for musicians via his website, with plans to hold auditions when he's got a shortlist of suitable people.

Barat also told NME, "I'd feel so much less inhibited in a band. It gets lonely out there on your own, and sessions musicians are all into jogging and cricket. I want a band that are into having a good time."
Barat's plans are to re-record the album once he has chosen the new band members, and hopes that the new project will kickstart his creativity again.
