Despite leaking it early online after a dispute with her labels, Angel Haze is confident her debut album Dirty Gold will be a success.

The album was originally set to be released in March, but instead came out on 30 December last year after Haze put it up on Soundcloud 12 days earlier.

The leaked album only sold 857 copies in its first week, but Angel Haze has now told Music Week that "it doesn't bother me."

"[My label said they] didn't expect it to sell like 15,000 in the first week because I decided to drop it in the last week of December where only heavy hitters makes the final sales," she said.

"I knew I was going to have to play catch up and bring everyone up to speed on what's going on, and do all the extra work, and I was okay with that", she added. "It's a lot of work but I never set myself up for anything I'm not prepared for."

The album itself, despite the controversy, has been well received by critics, with The Guardian and Metro giving it four stars out of five.
