Bowling For Soup, Flogging Molly and Bad Religion are amongst the latest acts confirmed to play at this year's Download festival.
Opeth, Black Label Society, Phil Anselmo & The Illegals, The BossHoss, Skid Row, Tesla, Bury Tomorrow, Danger Danger, Powerman 5000, Huntress, The Graveltones and Anti-Mortem have also been announced for the 3 day event, which takes place June 13-15.
US rockers Bowling For Soup are particularly happy to be playing at the festival, as they'll be celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band. "We are really stoked to be coming back to Download this year…first and foremost, our little band turns 20 this June, so what better way to celebrate! Music, beer and Portaloos!" said lead singer Jaret Reddick.
The festival's lineup is beginning to take full shape now, with Aerosmith, Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold having been announced as the weekend's headliners. Other acts confirmed include Fall Out Boy, Alter Bridge, Suicide Silence, The Offspring, Status Quo and Trivium.
Download promoter Andy Copping says this year's festival will be the most eclectic yet. "This is shaping up to be the most diverse Download yet – a real tableau of the past, present and future of rock and metal," he said. "You can see that in our headliners; Aerosmith, Linkin Park and Avenged Sevenfold, and in today’s announcement where we combine such renowned acts as Bowling for Soup and Opeth withnewer acts like Bury Tomorrow."
