Pharrell Williams looks set to retain his place at the top of the singles chart for a third week with 'Happy', whilst Bruce Springsteen's new album High Hopes prepares to replace Ellie Goulding's Halcyon as No.1.

Pharrell's 'Happy', written for the soundtrack to Despicable Me 2, has sold just shy of half a million copies since its release in the summer. It only recently shot up the charts though, reaching number 1 three weeks ago and, after being briefly replaced by Pitbull ft Kesha, made its return to No.1 this week.

Pitbull ft Kesha's 'Timber' is at No.2 in the midweeks, whilst 'Hey Brother' by Avicii is at No.3.

Meanwhile, in the midweek albums chart, Bruce Springsteen is at No.1 with his eighteenth album High Hopes, and it looks likely that he'll knock Ellie Goulding's Halcyon off the top spot this weekend.

Beyonce's surprise new album is still hanging in at number 3, with Bastille at 4 and John Newman at 5.

The final chart will be announced at 4pm on Sunday.
