Lily Allen wanted her recent comeback to be made under the name Lily Rose Cooper - but record label bosses banned her from changing it.

The singer married Sam Cooper in 2011, and was keen to declare the relationship to the world by changing her stage name to Lily Rose Cooper. She changed her Twitter name, and declared that her return to music would be under this name too.

Label executives were less than supportive of the change though. Allen told NME: "Sadly, in this day and age, I still need their support. They're the bank manager and if they don't get their money out, then I'm not going to get anywhere.

She added: "I understand that my name is quite big, but it's about picking your battles..."

Allen/Cooper returned to the music scene last year with feminist anthem 'Hard Out Here', as well as her cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' for the John Lewis Christmas advert.

Her newest single, 'Air Balloon', premiered on Monday (13 January).

Nothing if not honest, Allen commented on her own video saying, "If you thought the Bear and Hare was annoying, you won't want to watch this."

Thanks for the heads up.
