The statement was made by music journalist Michael Goldberg, who says the duo have recorded a full length album that is due for release through White's Third Man records or Warner Brothers. Late last year a Neil Young fansite also reported that the rocker was working on an album of covers, stating it "pays tribute to other renowned singer-songwriters. There are 12 tracks on it. There are no Neil Young originals…"
Goldberg goes on to point out that a series of covers recently performed by Young will feature on the album, including: Bert Jansch’s ‘Needle of Death’, Phil Ochs’ ‘Changes’, Bob Dylan’s ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’, Gordon Lightfoot’s ‘Early Morning Rain,’ Ivory Joe Hunter’s ‘Since I Met You Baby’ and Tim Hardin’s ‘Reason To Believe’.
These songs were performed by Young in 2013 at a Farm Aid concert and he recorded 'Needle of Death' in White's Voice-o-Graph booth during last years Record Store Day.

Jack White recently revealed to fans that he was working on two albums in a Third Man Records online chatroom. During the conversation, White told his fans: "I’m producing two albums this month, and finishing them… One of them is mine."
It is widely believed that one of these albums is the follow-up to his critically acclaimed and hugely successful Blunderbuss album and the second could be the Neil Young collaboration.
