She's already got eleven successful albums under her belt, but pop superstar Kylie Minogue has admitted that recording her upcoming twelfth album "wasn't the easiest road."

The singer, who is currently starring as a judge/coach on on BBC1 talent show The Voice, began working on her new album at the end of 2012.

Speaking of the upcoming album, Minogue told The Sun, "I actually didn't know where I was going or what the future held at the end of 2012. There's been a lot of change."

She added, "It wasn't the easiest road, but signing to Roc Nation, spending a lot of time in America and doing The Voice gave me a challenge and I needed that to feel reinvigorated."

The first single 'Into The Blue', taken from Minogue's currently untitled twelfth album, is set for release on 27 January.
