Hungary's Sziget Festival has announced an impressive and varied list of bands set to perform at this summer's event, mixing some of the biggest names in modern rock and dance.
Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin Harris, Placebo, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, Stromae, Klaxons, Laidback Luke, and Starlight Girls have all been confirmed to perform at the Budapest event, which takes place this year between 13 and 18 August 2014. The festival takes place on Obudai-sziget, an island on Hungary's Danube river. The event boasts over 60 stages and attracts up to 400,000 visitors every day.
Sziget first began in 1994 under the name Eurowoodstock and played host to The Birds, Jefferson Starship and Jethro Tull. It has grown hugely in the years since, and in 2013 had the likes of Blur, David Guetta, Empire Of The Sun, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Tame Impala and Biffy Clyro on the line-up.
