Smoke wafting from Snoop Dogg's hotel room in Melbourne set a fire alarm off today (January 24), caushing a fire brigade to rush to the scene.
Once there, Metropolitan fire brigade firefighters found it to be a "false alarm" - before a second alarm in another hotel room went off whilst they were still at the scene.
"It was pretty funny," said senior station officer Trevor Bowen. "We had a brush with Mr Snoop himself. He asked us for a photo because he said he always wanted to be a firefighter.”
Bowen also praised the rapper and his entourage, describing them as "very friendly". "If you didn't know who they were you would just think they were very friendly, ordinary people," he said. "It was an amazing chance encounter, which would probably be one of the highlights of my 26 years with the MFB."
There was no fire in Snoop's room, and the brigade refused to comment on what set off the alarm - but considering the amount of photos the rapper posts on his Instagram page of himself smoking blunts, we have a fairly good idea of the cause.
Snoop Dogg is currently in Melbourne to perform at the Big Day Out festival.
