Elbow have unveiled the video for their brand new single, 'New York Morning'. Check it out below.
The Mercury-winning Mancunian legends return this year with sixth album The Take Off And Landing Of Everything - due for release in March.
The track sees more heartfelt yet triumphant anthemics from Guy Garvey and co, delivering a slowly soaring reflection on nostalgia and hope as the true power of New York makes its impact. The video features photos of the band's past as it follows an elderly couple on a tour of memories around NYC. It's all quite typically marvellous.
A spokesman from Elbow's label said: "The video for the single features Dennis and Lois, the legendary New Yorkers whose forty year plus involvement in the music scene of Greenwich Village saw them befriend a host of bands from The Ramones to Blondie, Doves to elbow. The pair first met elbow helping out on the merchandise stand on an early US tour whilst supporting fellow Manchester band Doves.
"The film, made by elbow’s long term visual collaborators Soup Collective, is a touching portrait of a couple immersed in a love of rock ‘n’ roll and each other. Filmed at their house crammed with music memorabilia and signed letters from some of the most famous musicians in the history of rock music, the short is a potted biography of two characters who are now almost as famous as the bands they have watched over the years."
