London trio Hatcham Social return in 2014 with their third album, Cutting Up The Present Leaks Out The Future, and ahead of the record's official release on 3 February, they're streaming it in full exclusively on Gigwise. Listen below.

The new album continue's the band's adventures in lo-fi, balancing subtle, low-key sounds with a sense of ambition and scope, never rushing to meet a climax and delivering short, sharp bursts of progressive, but distorted, indie sounds. The album touches on psychedelic, sixties influences with a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere, and is at once innovative yet soothing with a strong sense of nostalgia.

Cutting Up The Present Leaks Out The Future The album was recorded live in just five days, and in-keeping with their lo-fi sound, was recorded onto an 80s tape machine in live takes during the lightning-fast process.

The album is released on OGenesis records, which is owned by The Charlatans' frontman, Tim Burgess, who has nothnig but praise for Hatcham Social, comparing them to some of the greatest names in music history.

"I love Hatcham Social as a band - and I kind of selfishly see them as my Crazy Horse, or The Band," he says. "If Bob Dylan or Neil Young was from Salford and Crazy Horse/ The Band were from New Cross".

Cutting Up The Present Leaks Out The Future is released on 3 Febraury, 2014.
