Sir Paul, Mr Grohl along with Pat Smear and Krist Novoselic beat off stiff competition from Muse, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and Gary Clarke Jr to win the award at Los Angeles' Staple Centre, before their bromance became visible for all to see when they collected their gold.

Then speaking from the podium about what in to recording 'Cut Me Some Slack, Grohl said: "I have to say that we wouldn't be here if it weren't for Paul and for Ringo," before Novoselic interjected with "and for Black Sabbath and The Rolling Stones".
"That's righ!" continued Grohl. "This song was two hours in my studio. I called up Paul and said 'hey man, do you wanna come and jam with some friends of mine?' and he came over and we knocked this out in a couple of hours.
"To me, that's what rock n' roll is all about."

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters are currently working on their upcoming eighth studio album, and are expected to return to the UK for tour dates later this year.
