Vampire Weekend have spoken out about Trent Reznor's outburst following this weekend's Grammy Awards, claiming that they thought his anger was actually directed at them.
Reznor was part of an all-star supergroup closing of the ceremony, joining Dave Grohl, Fleetwood Mac's Lindsay Buckingham and Queens Of The Stone Age to perform a mash-up of Nine Inch Nails' 'Copy Of A' and QOTSA's 'My God Is The Sun'. Alas, the televised programme ran show credits and sponsor messages over the final minutes of their performance.
The NIN frontman then took to Twitter to express his extreme displeasure at the premature severance of proceedings:
Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt FUCK YOU guys.

On the same evening, Vampire Weekend had beaten Nine Inch Nails in the Best Alternative Album category to take home the Grammy for Modern Vampires of the City - leading them to think that it was in fact their win that had angered Reznor.
"We saw that last night and we were worried for a second that it was about us because Nine Inch Nails were in our category," said Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Thomson in an interview with KROW. "So we thought, ‘Oh, damn. Is Trent Reznor pissed at the Dubs?’"
The Grammys have since apologised to Reznor for cutting them off.
Anyway, if you want to see Trent in all of his furious glory, Nine Inch Nails will be returning to the UK to tour this year. Dates are below.
