Rock veterans Motley Crue have announced that they are calling it a day, with no hope of future reunions. Ever.
Speaking at a press conference they held at Beachers' Madhouse Theatre in Hollywood yesterday (28 January), the group said that it was the end of the road. As a fitting swan song however they announced that they would be embarking on a 72-date world tour that would kick off later this year with the mighty Alice Cooper joining them.
At the conference a headstone was displayed for each member of the band, with band members iterating that they wouldn't emulate other bands and simply reform years later. “We want to leave a legacy and have dignity. We want to call it a day and be proud,” said guitarist Nikki Six.

The band also signed a cessation of tour agreement to make sure things were set in stone. “Everything must come to an end,” said drummer Tommy Lee. “We always had a vision of going out with a big fucking bang and not playing county fairs and clubs with 1 or 2 original band members! Our job here is done!!!”
This ain't no farewell tour! Those are for bands that lie to their fans and come back in 5-10 years! This is the FINAL tour! It's over!

The band also discussed progress on other projects, including a tribute album to the band featuring covers from country acts Leann Rimes, Florida Georgia Line and Cassidy Pope. Jeff Tremaine, director of Jackass and Bad Grandpa also gave a progress report on his film 'The Dirt' which is based on the infamous Motley Cue autobiography.
