Lorde is fast becoming a legend among fans, this time taking out an entire page of a New Zealand newspaper to thank her fans.
The full page handwritten spread in the New Zealand Herald is a heartwarming tribute to everyone that she feels has supported her over the last year. It expresses her excitement at playing in the Staples Centre in her "school shoes" and at playing her homecoming show in Auckland, which took place last night (28 January).
This is yet another chapter in the young musicians career, detailing exactly how amazingly she is one of the most modest and sane musicians out there. This is all despite her age and the heights of fame that she has now achieved due to the success of Royals. See her newspaper advert below.
However it's not all smiles, the 'Royals' star picked up awards in the Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance categories and Grammys, and was mobbed by press after touching down in NZ. Taking to Twitter to discuss her treatment by the media, she revealed she no longer feels 'safe' in her homeland. The tweets have since been deleted.
"I know that success comes with a price tag. it just sucks when you see that in your tiny home country where you previously felt safe," she wrote. "There is a difference between attn from fans, which I love, and the constant, often lecherous gaze that I'm subjected to in this industry."
