29 January - On this day in 2006, Arctic Monkeys debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not crash-landed at No.1 of the charts. Four spotty lads from Sheffield used to sweaty toilet venues, dropping an album that would go on to break records and change the face of music.
It's hard enough to really find a sound on your first record - let alone inspire a generation and prove utterly game-changing. However, Alex Turner and co did it, Nirvana did it, Run DMC did it, Black Sabbath did it and countless more bands will pull off the impossible on their debut LP in decades to come.
These aren't neccessarily the best debut albums of all time - but these are certainly 25 of the debuts that changed the course of music history.
