What better way to celebrate your retirement (and drum up some interest in your farewell tour) than to perform on one of America's biggest TV shows? Motley Crue did just that, taking to the Jimmy Kimmel stage after telling fans they would be breaking up - with no chance of ever getting back together.
Speaking at a press conference they held at Beachers' Madhouse Theatre in Hollywood yesterday (28 January), the group said that it was the end of the road. As a fitting swan song however they announced that they would be embarking on a 72-date world tour that would kick off later this year with the mighty Alice Cooper joining them.
At the conference a headstone was displayed for each member of the band, with band members iterating that they wouldn't emulate other bands and simply reform years later. “We want to leave a legacy and have dignity. We want to call it a day and be proud,” said guitarist Nikki Six.
