Many people are furious Macklemore & Ryan Lewis swept the board in the rap categories at the Grammys - but Kendrick Lamar isn't one of them, calling their win "well-deserved".
The rapper, who lost out to the rapper and producer duo in the categories for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance, seems to have taken a philosophical and mature approach to the furore, telling XXL: "It's well-deserved. He did what he did, man."
"He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason. The universe comes back around. That's how it go," he continued.

Lamar was one of the top nominees at the January 26 ceremony, up for a massive seven awards thanks to his critically acclaimed debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city. However, he went home empty-handed, and scores of furious hip hop fans took to Twitter to condemn the Grammy board for naming Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as the winners in three of the four rap categories.
Macklemore then posted a screenshot of a text he sent to Lamar on his Instagram, in which he told Lamar it was "weird and sucks" that he "robbed" him.
XXL also asked Lamar if he thinks the Grammys undervalue hip hop, to which he replied: "I definitely feel like they should always have more of the culture up in there, for sure, because we definitely stand out just like any other genre. We part of the world. We part of the movement. So I think any awards, including the Grammys, should always push for more hip-hop because it's music as a whole, it's not just splitting different regions.
Everything moves as far as sound and vibrations, and that's how it goes. And we are a part of that."
