Justin Bieber has landed himself in legal hot water countless times recently, after arrests involving alleged drunken drag racing and assault, and now a petition to deport the Canadian pop star is set to receive a response from the White House.
The petition reads, "We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive and drug abusing Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked."
It has since received over 238,000 signatures, easily passing the threshold of 100,000 required for the Obama administration to be obligated to respond.
At a press conference, White House spokesperson Jay Carney said, "There will be a response when the threshold is crossed. That response will come, I'm sure, relatively soon." At the time of this statement, the threshold had in fact already been crossed.
Bieber was recently arrested following an alleged drunken drag race in Miami, following which the singer is said to have failed a sobriety test. He also turned himself in to Toronto Police on 29 January following an apparent assult on a limo driver late last year.
The singer recently tweeted his thanks to his hometown of Stratford for their ongoing support.
never forget where you come from or those who supported you before anyone else. still the small town kid. thanks http://t.co/9gxipLe8JB

The petition to deport Bieber was created on the White House's official petition website, which states that it gives "all Americans a way to engage their government on the issues that matter to them."
