Chris Brown has once again dodged a jail term, this time for an alleged assault committed in October last year, with a judge deciding the performer needs more time in rehab, not behind bars.
The r&b star narrowly dodged charges from the judge after the prosecution demanded that he should be served a prison sentence after the incident last year, it was decided this week. According to TMZ they stated that "Brown's violent behavior continues to increase in severity and frequency" and he presents "an increasing danger to society."
However judge James R. Brandlin chose to throw out the plea in favour of more anger management and councilling for substance abuse at the rehab clinic. CNN reports that the reasoning behind this was that Chris "is doing well in the program and making great strides"

It's key to note that judge Brandlin is the same judge who handled the Rihanna case, revoking his probation and ordering him to do community service. The same judge also sentenced him to 1,000 hours of extra community service during another case in November, shortly after the aforementioned assault.
The incident in question reportedly kicked off in New York City at 4:30am, outside the W Hotel. A member of the public photo-bombed the rapper and began spouting racist abuse, sparking the alleged assault which has landed Chris back in court.
