It worked for Michelle Pfieffer in Dangerous Minds, but a South Florida school teacher has been suspended for setting homework for pupils involing Lil' Wayne lyrics due to the explicit content of his work.

The unnamed English teacher at The Charter Schools of Boynton Beach has been suspended from her job after printing and distributing lyrics to Wayne's track 'Six Foot Seven Foot' among her students for homework.

The track includes such lyrical gems as "two bitches at the same time, synchronized swimmers / got the girl twisted 'cause she open when you twist her / never met the bitch, but I fuck her like I missed her / life is the bitch, and death is her sister" and "fuck that shit, my money up, you niggas just Honey Nut / Young Money running shit and you niggas just runner-ups."

Parents at the school were less than impressed.

"This is crazy. They shouldn't be giving this to kids in school," said parent Vanessa Guzman, reports US website WPTV. "I'm uncomfortable reading any of this."

"They shouldn't be teaching this stuff in school for language arts. I mean, who in their right mind would give kids something like this?"

The school have since apologised to parents, and a statement from headmaster Wayne Owens revealing that the teacher issued the lyrics as pupils were struggling with puns and metaphors. His statement read:

"The lesson was for students to learn to identify literary devices. The teacher had already introduced Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare. Students were having difficulty grasping the concepts of literary devices such as: pun, simile, metaphor, so the teacher used colloquial material. This material did not meet the school's standards and was not approved. The teacher recognizes that it was totally inappropriate for a school assignment."
