A conman who scammed One Direction and Olly Murs fans has been jailed for 28 months - as well as charged with distributing indecent images of children.
Liam McMahon, 28, exploited fans of the pop band and singer by claiming to have spare tickets when spotting desperate requests online. He told victims to send him £50 in return for tickets - which, of course, they never recieved.
Southampton Crown Court heard how McMahon had conned One Direction and Olly Murs fans out of £2,000, with the judge describing him as "persistent fraudster and thief". McMahon admitted to five counts of fraud and asked for 20 others to be considered.
More seriously, McMahon was also found guilty on 12 counts of distributing indecent images of children after police found over 130 incriminating pictures on his laptop.
