The Strokes have signed a new publishing deal with BMG, it was announced on Wednesday (February 5).

BMG Chrysalis US will now look after Julian Casablancas and co's 15 year old catalogue. There's no word yet on whether this means new music from the band, who released their last album, Comedown Machine, in March 2013.

Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr has previously denied reports the band will be releasing new material in the near future, saying: "We don't know anything yet. There's no news or information. We're not writing or doing anything - maybe individually we are, but it's not like we're in the studio or anything."

However, the band will be headlining the Governors Ball festival in June 2014.
