Our heart goes out to Miley Cyrus fan Matt Peterson - after VERY publicly asking the singer to his prom, Cyrus has had to decline.
Peterson made his plea to the 'Wrecking Ball' star in a YouTube video that has now garnered over 645,000 views.
"Miley, I have been a fan of yours from the beginning," reads the description. "You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life. In order to do that, allow me to take you to my Prom on May 3, 2014. I promise you, we will have a great time.. and after our first encounter, I won't cry on your dress."
Peterson makes his best efforts to persuade Cyrus to join him at his dance, even stripping down and posing with her famous foam finger, but whilst she's seen the video, Cyrus has unfortunately had to decline, due to her Bangerz tour - but has asked him to attend a show.

Cyrus will indeed be busy on the day of Peterson's prom - May 3 - she'll be in Antwerp for the European leg of her Bangerz tour, which kicks off February 14 in Vancouver.
